A Different Kind of Girl
A Different Kind of Girl was written by Kari Highman
This started out as a poem, but it kinda is starting to sound like a song…….anyways, here it is…….
A Different Kind of Girl
In a perfect world
Full of Style and Beauty
All around us
Nobody notices it
The it is me (Yeah, yeah)
They’ve all seen me before
But no one makes a move
Because I’m a different kind of Girl
Living in this lonely world
Just trying to fit in, tryin’ not to stand out
But everytime I try, I fail the test
The test of clothes, looks, and hair
Because because, because because…..
I’m a different kind of Girl, I’m a different kind of girl….
In a perfect world
With all these pretty girls
I was of them,
Deep down inside
But now I wanna break free, (yeah) I wanna stand out (yeah)
And I don’t care, (Yeah), I don’t care
Because……….
I wanna be that girl, that Different Kind of Girl
That doesn’t care, if she stands out
That doesn’t care, if she’s not cool
I wanna be that girl, that Different Kind of Girl
With no makeup, no dresses or heels,
Who sticks with her jeans, flats and tees
And has glasses and imperfections…………
Because because, because because…………
I wanna be that girl. A different kind of girl.
A Response from Annie
I want to be that kind of girl!!
That is so cool! Thanks for posting it!
You could really help people with that song! Listen to “More Beautiful You” by Johnny Diaz and songs by “Point of Grace”… My all-time favorite is “Your Beautiful” by Mercy Me and “Shine” by The Newsboys. Your poem is just as good!
