Beyond Your Wardrobe
Humility, gratitude, grace, and faithfulness are just a few of the ways Bethel Groves takes modesty Beyond Your Wardrobe. I love that she dives right in by going to the heart of the issue, but she isn’t afraid to answer the questions we all know every girl has, and still brings it back to what’s in our hearts in the end. Reading Bethel’s book is like talking to a big sister; She isn’t afraid to share her opinion, but you know she is pointing you in the right direction.
About Beyond Your Wardrobe
Is modesty all about the clothes we wear?
What if I told you that modesty is about more than clothes and that there is a way to find freedom by embracing it?
We usually don’t associate modesty with freedom. But this is because we have bought so many lies about it. Ideas like “modesty is out of date” or “I should be able to wear whatever I want” are all ways that our culture tries to convince us that our beauty and success are key to our acceptance and worth. But when we take the opportunity to refute these lies, we quickly find out that pursuing the ideals behind them will leave us empty and unsatisfied. When we choose to instead dive into God’s Word, we learn that modesty isn’t an out of date list of rules we have to keep; it’s an attitude and a lifestyle of humility, gratitude, and grace.
When the reasons the Scriptures give us for a modest life become real, it will not only change the way you want to dress, but it will change the way you see yourself. Then you will not only learn to dress with humble confidence, but you will also discover within yourself a beauty that will never fade away.
Including an appendix to men and links to resources online, this isn’t like any book you’ve read before. Instead, it’s an invitation on a journey through the beauty and power that modesty has to offer anyone willing to embrace it.
