The Free River
This poem was submitted anonymously
As the wind blows in a very low grumble;
I watch as the river fiercely rumbles.
I wish that maybe, someday soon per say;
I could become a fish and just swim away.
For the life I live and the troubles I face,
wish things could go smoothly, at a walking pace.
But no, not I, who runs to fast;
and doesn’t have time to face the facts.
So I’ll be a river whom is smooth and graceful;
And never as I have too much to handle.
So I’ll be myself and just let free…
But I first must discover, the real, true me.
